Currently: Kay K. Peebles is living in North Georgia and has been writing teachings on thykingdom.com for the past year. She is a member of The Church at Acworth (TCA) in the Atlanta area, and a participant in a weekly home group. She is working on writing Christian books for publication in the future.
Past experience: Kay K. Peebles was formally an ordained minister at Freedom International Church in Wesley Chapel, Florida, and served as Elder and Board Member. She and her husband Larry have served on the Worship Team, led the Prayer Ministry of the church, and led a home group Bible Study. They have travelled together in the mission field to Cuba, Costa Rica, Kenya, Tanzania and El Salvador. Kay has also travelled to Honduras. They have helped instruct classes for Partnership, Leadership and Ministry at FIC. They have ministered in the Juvenile Justice System in Hillsborough County (Tampa), Florida for over 15 years.
Kay has an AA degree from Temple College, and continued university studies in Business Education at North Texas State University. She completed 7 years of Bible Study Fellowship, serving 3 1/2 years as discussion leader, and was President of the North Tampa Women’s Aglow. She has been a Bible study teacher for over 29 years at various churches, and for three years at Women’s Aglow. She has led Ladies’ Retreats for various churches, and has been a Conference Speaker for the United Methodist Women in Florida.
Kay has been a member of the Church Board in the United Methodist Church and Chairman of various committees over the years. She has taught Sunday School for 14 years to both high school and young married couples. She served as Chaplain on the board of A Woman’s Place Ministries (now New Life Solutions) of Tampa for 5 years, was Bible Teacher at Second Chance Ministries in Lakeland, Florida for 5 years. She was also on a Steering Committee at Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa for 3 years.
Kay and Larry have lived in the Tampa area since 1987. They have been married for 45 years, and have two children and five grandchildren.
